Housing associations and RSLs
For more than 30 years Making Space has been providing support to vulnerable people in their own homes, helping them to live independently for as long as possible.
Our teams have experience guiding people who may be homeless into settled accommodation, and providing low-level and complex care packages to individuals in supported and independent living accommodation. We currently deliver support to more than 700 people in supported housing schemes across 23 English authorities.
We understand that by helping vulnerable and older adults into accommodation that meets their care needs, we can vastly improve their wellbeing.
We follow national policy drivers such as Think Local, Act Personal and are committed to working with private and social landlords to encourage independent living.
We pride ourselves on having successful working relationships with landlords (RSLs) and housing associations. Our collaborative working practices include:
- Ensuring we provide high quality accommodation which is comfortable, safe and therapeutic to meet individual needs
- Helping patients understand and maintain their tenancy agreements and encouraging them to be a good neighbours/tenants
- Providing patients with personalised transition plans and support to move on to more suitable or independent housing
- Offering landlords the right advice and training on issues surrounding mental health
