We have been shortlisted for the 3rd Sector Care Awards
We are delighted to announce that Neil Allen, trustee at Making Space, has been shortlisted for the Beyond Governance award at this year’s 3rd Sector Care Awards. The Beyond Governance award acknowledges board members or trustees who have made an outstanding and suitable contribution that is owned by all people within the organisation.
Neil has gone above and beyond his role as a trustee and has organised the development, implementation and delivery of our award winning Dementia Law Clinic.
Thanks to Neil, more than 100 service users have received free legal advice. And, as well as providing a valuable resource to people with dementia and their carers, the law clinic promotes the issues they face to a new generation of legal students. Over 100 students have volunteered for the clinic, each of whom receive free dementia awareness training and will begin their careers with an insight into the legal issues faced by people with dementia.
Not only did Neil orchestrate the partnerships in the service, he continues to donate many hours of his time every week to provide or oversee the legal advice given to people who access the service.
Congratulations Neil. Winners will be announced on the 6th December 2017.
