Dementia support services
Being diagnosed with dementia is a daunting prospect, but having a diagnosis means that you can make plans and take positive steps to maintain your independence, plan for the future and ultimately live life to the full.
Making Space provides specialist dementia care and support to hundreds of people across the country. Our services can support you from early diagnosis right through to the later stages of dementia.
We can support you to stay in your own home for as long as possible, helping you with daily living, personal care, keeping safe, and accessing local community groups and day services.
We also have an established network of quality, dementia-friendly care homes and short and long-term residential accommodation services, with varying levels of support depending on your needs.
Our dementia cafés and ‘drop in’ sessions are extremely useful for everyone. Whether you are living with dementia, are caring for someone who has dementia, have concerns over your memory or are simply interested in finding out more about dementia - everyone is welcome. You can find out more about cafes and groups near you in ‘In your Community’
We work closely with a variety of other services and national initiatives, such as the Dementia Action Alliance, memory clinics, Admiral Nurses and housing associations.
