Learning disability services

Making Space is passionate about empowering people with learning disabilities to have greater control over their lifestyle, through personal choice and promotion of self-confidence. We want to help people achieve their personal goals and have an active, healthy and inclusive life.

We use interactive and activity-based learning to support individuals to learn independent living skills, participate in activities that they enjoy and play an active part in their local community.

We pride ourselves on providing a safe and stimulating environment for the people we support. Our support workers are highly qualified and are dedicated to making a positive and long-term impact upon the people in their care.

As well as supporting individuals with learning disabilities, we are focused on giving family carers confidence in our quality of service and the assurance that their loved one will have a positive experience while in our care.

Making Space currently has two learning disability respite services; Cedar House and Swallow Lodge, both based in Lincolnshire. Each service provides short term residential respite care for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs, living with family carers. The services also provide day respite and outreach support in the family home.

We also have Gables Manor Nursing Home, which provides 24-hour care to individuals with high-dependency nursing needs.
