Oldham Memory Service
Making it easier for people who live with dementia to stay active and take part in leisure and community activities.
Would you like to join in local social and community activities? Get involved with activities that match interests, hobbies and goals? We can help you do this, as well as receive practical help and advice for carers from dementia specialists and the added reassurance of peer and carer support groups.
Living with dementia can sometimes make it hard to stay active and carry on with life’s simple everyday pleasures. This can often lead to a feeling of not being part of normal social life.
That’s where the Oldham Activities Element of the Memory Service can help
make a big difference. Working with Oldham Council and the NHS, the enhanced memory service supports people with dementia to carry on making the most of their hobbies and interests. It also helps service users to get fully involved in their local leisure and community groups, events and activities.
It’s all about keeping active, maintaining a social life, having fun and enjoying life more. All of which helps people stay well and continue to live independently for longer.
As part of the activities service, we run various groups and events throughout the year. Including:
- Get Arty & Crafy group
- Carer groups
- Helping yourself to health
- Healthy living group
