Mark Jenkinson

Mark became a Board Trustee in September 2019.

Mark has a Cumbrian farming background and has worked in mental health and social services as a senior manager, nurse and therapist, for over 30 years. A volunteer at the Nightline service at Aberystwyth University, Mark worked in many inpatient and community practitioner jobs in London, prior to taking up a wide range of senior mental health manager roles in health and social services. Mark has established many new health and care services and has been involved in the construction and adaptation of hospital and community buildings in England and Wales. Mark retired from working in the NHS in 2018 and is a part time carer for family members.

Mark is a senior associate of the Royal Society of Medicine, a life member of the National Piers Society and a member of the Portico Library. He is also a member of several health, literary, heritage and environmental groups.

Mark regularly attends the Edinburgh Festival and is a firm believer in the important role that the arts, sports and leisure activities can play in good health and living well.
