Feel Good Fest
Taking place virtually on Wednesday 6 October, our Feel Good Fest will be a day designed to put a smile on the faces of our guests, give them the opportunity to try something new and also show our support for World Mental Health Day 2021.
At our Feel Good Fest people we support, volunteers and Making Space staff will come together for a day of inspiration, awareness, creativity and laughter.
So that the event can be accessible to as many people as possible, we have decided to host the event virtually. We know that with restrictions now lifted it’s good to get out and about, but this way more of us can connect and enjoy the day from the comfort of our homes, in a safe and relaxed environment. Next year we hope to be back together in person.
Join us at Feel Good Fest this October and, together, we can take part in a live cook-along, enjoy a musical performance from an incredible tribute act, learn more about mindfulness, and have fun busting some moves in Boogie Bingo - the event is set to be a truly fantastic day.
The main event:

We will be starting off the day by hearing from Making Space CEO Rachel Peacock.
Rachel will be focusing on the theme of World Mental Health Day - Mental Health in an Unequal World.
Getting creative in the kitchen can have positive effects on our mental health. Cooking is an act of patience, mindfulness, and an outlet for creative expression.
During this live interactive cook-along with volunteers from Warrington Day Service, you will learn how to make a dessert from scratch either as a group or on your own, for you to enjoy later in the day.
*Please note, this session is limited to 100 people. All costs of the ingredients will be covered.
Online music performance
Whilst tucking into your lunch, there will be a surprise guest gracing our screens to give us a music performance and maybe the opportunity for a boogie or two.
Paying more attention to the present moment – to our own thoughts and feelings, and to the world around us can improve our mental wellbeing, reduce stress and build resilience.
Michelle from the Making Space Practice Development Team, will guide participants through different mindfulness techniques to enable us to be more aware of the present moment and understand ourselves better.
Michelle will inspire us to think about the things that we are grateful for and provide resources to build up your own mindfulness pack.
The session will be finished off with a meditation workshop.
Participants will receive a resources pack prior to the event.

If you are looking for something fun and upbeat, why not try our unique virtual bingo activity?
The traditional bingo cards have been ripped up and the cards list artists and song names. Instead of boring old numbers being called out in a normal game of bingo, there are 15-20 second bursts of the most toe-tappin’, bum wigglin’ sing-along songs from the past and present.
With bingo card in hand and dabber on standby, you can listen out for the songs being played and mark them off as you would a normal game of bingo.
This upbeat and interactive activity will be hosted by someone you might all be familiar with if you have attended Making Space events in the past.

What is a virtual event?
A virtual event (also known as an online event) an event held via the internet on a given date at a specific time in a virtual space rather than at a venue.
How much does it cost to attend?
Our virtual event is free!
When and where is the event taking place?
The event is taking place virtually on Wednesday 6 October from 11.15am. All sessions and activities will take place via Zoom.
Who can attend?
The event is for the people we support and our volunteers, staff are also welcome to attend if they are supporting someone on the day. If you are not someone we support or a volunteer for Making Space, but would still like to attend, email firstname.lastname@example.org
Do I have to attend the entire event?
No, all sessions are bookable due to restrictive numbers. Feel free to book on as many or as little sessions as you would like.
What do you do to ensure a safe environment?
To create a safe virtual environment, all attendees must register to the event before attending their chosen session. Only people within the Making Space community (staff, Trustees, volunteers and the people we support) are able to book on to the sessions.
How will we be able to join the sessions?
All sessions will be held on Zoom, participants booked on to each session will be provided with the Zoom Meeting ID and passcode.
We will be sharing a technical support guide to all attendees closer to the event date to support you with setting up your laptop, downloading Zoom and viewing the activities on a larger screen.
Can we take part as a group?
Absolutely, all of our activities and sessions can be done individually or as a group.
