Windmills Not Walls
The Coronavirus outbreak is having a significant impact upon the Heath and Social Care Sector and it is likely to continue for the next few months. Keeping positive and managing staff wellbeing as well as the people using Making Space services is of paramount importance to us.
To keep spirits high and to overcome the challenges many of our services are facing during the Government lockdown regulations, we have seen many of our staff continuing to roll out a schedule of activities across our services, for the people we support to enjoy. They have continued to make as many adaptions to the way in which we deliver our services, offered out of hours support and gone above and beyond to make a difference to the lives of the people we support.
It’s these acts of kindness that bring us all together and lets us know that we’re not alone. Even when times are hard, we know that kindness is still lived out in everything we do when caring for the people we support.
To capture these moments, we have put together #WindmillsNotWalls, a campaign that highlights all the extraordinary ways our staff and services are going above and beyond for the people we support and each other, during this pandemic.
Like a Chinese proverb says: ‘When the wind is blowing a gale, we build windmills not walls’, we are not defeatist, but instead we are motivated to go above, in new and dynamic ways, to ensure that people are connected and supported.
