Footsteps has been supporting families and young people affected by substance dependency within their own families for more than 20 years. Founded by a small group of concerned parents, Footsteps has provided professional advice, support and respite opportunities to hundreds of individuals and families.

Our new relationship means that Footsteps can reach out to even more families seeking help due to drug and alcohol use.

Footsteps’ Chair, Anne Jenner, is excited for what the future could hold. “We are delighted to be becoming a subsidiary of Making Space. Making Space has a fantastic reputation in the area and is well known nationally for its excellent social care and carer support services. We believe that their experience and expertise can only enhance the work we do at Footsteps”.

Our CEO, Rachel Peacock, recognised the amazing support that Footsteps provides, stating “they give families a trusted person to talk to, they empower them to make positive changes in their family relationships, and to take control of their lives and improve their wellbeing.

“With their vision, values and ambitions aligning so well with our own, we are thrilled to have Footsteps become the first subsidiary of our newly formed, Making Space group”.

So what is the Making Space Group? As part of our strategic aim of creating care designed for the future, we are committed to developing new and innovative services, both for our current beneficiaries and new beneficiary groups alike. The newly formed Making Space Group means that we can dream big, have courage and be ready to explore new and exciting ways of diversifying our services and forming new relationships.

Anne knows that being a part of the Making Space Group will be nothing but positive for Footsteps. “Alcohol and drug dependency is a huge problem nation-wide and Warrington/St Helens are no exception. The impact of Covid has inevitably increased the demand for a support service like Footsteps and I believe that being part of the Making Space group of companies can help us to reach out to even more people who need our help”.

Footsteps will continue to delivery its services under its current name from offices in Warrington town centre and the Peter Street Centre in St Helens.
