Healthy Lives Bury
Our Mill House Supported Housing service, in Bury, provides 12 flats and care and support for people living with dementia, and with learning disabilities and mental health conditions. The service has recently received £2,500 from Bury Mental Health Improvement Grants (Bury Council).
The funding will be used to support vulnerable people to lead healthy lifestyles by engaging in outdoor activities, walking and exercising. The project will:
- Create a walking group to explore local green spaces
- Host a monthly healthy heating group with cookery classes
- Provide resilience and mindfulness training which will impart techniques for people to manage their own behaviours, moods and mental health
Service Manager, Isaac Diallo said: ‘This is great news which will really help the people who we are supporting’.
