Warrington businesses invited to mental health networking event
In support of World Mental Health Day on 10 October and this year’s theme, "It’s time to prioritise mental health in the workplace," Making Space is hosting a networking event for local businesses, organisations, and entrepreneurs. The event, titled ‘3 Minutes to Save Workplace Mental Health’, will take place on Wednesday, 16 October, from 5-7 pm at The Village Hotel, Warrington.
Attendees will hear a series of engaging 3-minute talks on key mental health topics, followed by a Q&A session. Speakers include Emma Morgan, Partner at Shoosmiths in Manchester, who will discuss employers' responsibilities and legal protections for employees’ mental health, alongside tips for managing difficult conversations. Heather Arnold from Find Your Calm will lead mindfulness exercises, while Laura Mort of The Village Hotel will share actionable steps for supporting staff wellbeing. Daryhl Lewis from Making Space will offer practical strategies for managing workplace stress. Additional speakers will be announced in the lead-up to the event.
Natalie Bargery, Corporate Fundraising Lead at Making Space, said:
“At Making Space, we believe in fostering a workplace culture where open conversations about mental health are encouraged, and support is always available. With 15% of UK workers experiencing mental health challenges and related absences rising*, creating a supportive work environment is vital for both personal and professional wellbeing, the event aims to give employers practical tools to support their own and their employees’ mental health.”
While the event is virtually free to attend, participants are encouraged to make a voluntary donation, when reserving their ticket. In addition to gaining valuable insights, attendees will receive a free day pass to The Village Hotel gym and a goody bag filled with mental health and wellbeing resources.
