About Rivacre House
Rivacre is a residential service supporting 12 people that have a long term mental health condition encouraging people to develop their living skills, manage their health with the aim for that person to become more independent and to achieve their goals/ambitions.
How will you make a difference?
We are looking for volunteers to spend time with people that are feeling isolated, encourage/support people to get involved with activities they enjoy and support people with doing leisure activities in the community. This will help to build a person’s confidence and with their wellbeing. You will also get the chance to meet other people, gain experience and have fun when volunteering.
What will you be doing?
- To volunteer a few hours a week at a time that is convenient for you.
- Spend time with people that are feeling isolated and provide a listening ear.
- Encourage people to get involved in things that relates to their interests.
- Support people with going out in the community one to one e.g. shopping, going for a coffee at local café/pub.
- To follow organization’s policies and procedures.
What skills and experience will you need?
No qualifications are needed but some experience/knowledge of mental health conditions is useful. We are looking for volunteers that have an interest in other people, are willing to learn and a good listener. Training will be provided during your induction and will get the chance to learn from other people.
