Making Space success at regional Great British Care Awards
This November, Making Space is proudly celebrating its achievements at the regional finals of the prestigious Great British Care Awards (GBCA), a celebration of excellence and dedication within the UK’s social care sector. Our team received nominations in 11 categories, reflecting the remarkable passion and commitment across our services. With four award recognitions in the North West and Yorkshire and Humber regions, our dedicated colleagues continue to inspire everyone at Making Space.
At the North West awards ceremony, hosted at Manchester’s Kimpton Clocktower, Making Space celebrated two wins and a highly commended honour:
- Daryhl Lewis won the Care Newcomer Award. Daryhl’s impact on the Cheshire East All Ages Carers Hub has been profound, with her passion, knowledge, and lived experience making a difference in countless lives.
- The Open Door team, based in Stockport, took home the Co-Production Award. This team’s dedication to mental health crisis support is strengthened by their personal experiences with mental health, creating a truly compassionate and supportive environment.
- Chloe Cadman, Service Manager, received a "Highly Commended" for the Frontline Leader Award. Chloe’s courage and dedication have transformed services in Northwich and Ellesmere Port, setting a benchmark in leadership and compassionate care.
At the Yorkshire and Humber awards, held at Leeds’ Royal Armouries, we celebrated another win:
- Tony Linney was honoured as Home Care Worker of the Year. Based at Huddersfield Road supported living, Tony’s unwavering support for young adults shines in every aspect of his work. A passionate advocate, Tony ensures that each person celebrates their achievements, empowering them with dignity and respect.
