Carers Week 2020

June 2020

Making Space is celebrating Carers Week all this week and we are launching our brand new carers magazine!

Ms People Png

There are 6.5 million carers in the UK who are looking after a family member or friend who has a disability, mental or physical illness or who needs extra help as they grow older. New figures have been released that suggest unpaid carers are seven times more likely to be lonely compared with the general public.

This year everyone is facing new challenges when it comes to caring for others, so it’s extremely important that carers are recognised for the important way they improve people’s lives!

To celebrate Carers Week, we are launching our brand new Carers Magazine! You can download the first edition by clicking here and enjoy a wide range of features.

The magazine is edited by our Practice Development Team, Kath Penrith and Michelle Molyneux, and is filled with letters, information tips and advice from our carers for our carers.

You can also download the newsletter supplement that will introduce you to mindfulness, and enable you to start being mindful in your everyday lives.

We have also launched our Making Space Carers Facebook group. This is a place where carers can interact directly with one another, even sharing their own experiences and guidance on how to care for others. A lot of our employees are also carers in your private lives, so why not all come together in our new group?
