We're going digital #ReadyToShine
Over the coming months we will be working closely with our employees and volunteers, on Shine, our new project for going digital at Making Space. We will be exploring, piloting and launching new digital products that will help us all to work more effectively and more efficiently.
We will be looking at different products and different ways of working that shine a light on:
Time – giving us more contact time with the people we support, and the tools we need to cut down on our admin and travel time
Care – supporting us to provide better care to the people we support and our staff teams
Paperless – supporting our bid to become a paperless organisation. Reducing our carbon footprint on the planet and helping us to spend our resources better
Communication – improving communication across all stakeholder groups
Data – supporting the input, flow and reporting of data to help us achieve operational excellence
Success at our launch event
The launch event took place at the Gateway in Warrington, where we were joined by 100 Making Space stakeholders, all passionate about going digital, and excited for the future.
Our CEO, Rachel Peacock, opened the event, welcoming everyone to the launch and thanking them for choosing to be involved in such an inspiring and momentous project for our charity.
Following Rachel’s opening speech we heard from our 3 digital experts, including:
- Joseph Strain, Business Transformation and Operations Manager at Making Space
- Claire Sutton, Digital transformation lead at NCF
- Arun Jothinath, Director at We Care Group, sharing their experience of going digital.
I found the event fantastic. I can’t wait to go digital!
After a short refreshment break we enjoyed 10-minute lightning talks from each of our digital care planning exhibitors, Sekoia, Nourish and Person Centred Software, talking about their digital solutions.
During lunch our Shine Marketplace opened where delegates chatted directly with our exhibitors, asked them questions about their products and got to trial them for themselves.
The event was a huge success, with fantastic live, interactive feedback and polling throughout the day using Slido.
This is the start of big things here at Making Space, and through the involvement of our employees and volunteers from the start, we can ensure we choose the right digital path for us and the people we support.
What an amazing launch event for Shine. We have been overwhelmed by the motivation, appetite and involvement of our staff and volunteers for all things digital. We're definitely #ReadyToShine
