Making Space named as care provider at new Warrington extra care scheme
Making Space has been announced as the care provider for Warrington’s new multi-million pound extra care housing scheme, Harpers Green.
The £11m development in Padgate, from growth and regeneration organisation, Torus, includes 97 one and two bedroomed apartments, providing state-of-the art independent living for people over the age of 55.
The apartments have been sensitively planned and designed to create individual homes within a vibrant community, with the reassurance that tailored care and support is available, assessed to individual needs.
The Making Space team will be on site at the service to support residents with everything from check-in visits, personal care, domestic tasks, healthcare visits, travel and more.
Rachel Peacock, CEO, Making Space said: “The coronavirus pandemic is affecting so many people in so many different ways and what is the best way to provide care for a family member can change.
“At Making Space, our care goes beyond keeping people safe and supporting basic physical needs. We are here to support our residents to live happy, fulfilling and enriched lives.
“We will get to know each resident personally and will ensure we understand what matters to them, including their hobbies, interests and familial needs.
“We have a robust health and safety and infection control training programme and e-learning modules for all of our staff. With an excellent track record, we have the resources in place to ensure we can safely protect staff and residents.”
Residents at Harpers Green will have access to the very latest facilities including spacious communal areas, landscaped gardens, guest suite and assisted bathroom whilst the onsite hair and beauty salon, bistro and bowling green will be open for the wider community to enjoy too.
Sarah Houghton-Grimshaw, Torus’ supported housing commissioning manager, said: “It is fantastic to have Making Space as our partner in delivering high-quality care into our Harpers Green development. We cannot wait to see residents moving into the scheme and beginning the next exciting phase of their lives. Our Extra Care developments make a real impact in changing lives and partnering with Making Space will certainly help us achieve this at Harpers Green.”
Harpers Green is expected to be completed in September 2020, but people are encouraged to register their interest now, ahead of the planned autumn launch.
The scheme is generally aimed at over 55s, younger people may be considered on a case by case basis.
