#SaveChristmas
Help us Save Christmas for some of the most vulnerable people in our communities.
2020 has been a challenging year for many of us, so, it’s important we take time, this festive season to reflect and find ways to put a smile on others’ and our own, faces.
Many of the people we support are facing loneliness and isolation after months of shielding and sometimes isolating alone and many of the services the people we support rely on are no longer providing face-to-face support or have become restricted in what they can offer.
People with mental health conditions have missed the companionship and stimulation of Day Services, which have closed their services only or reduced their hours. People living with dementia and their carers have missed socialising at Dementia Cafes and enjoying vital activities due to lack of electronic devices.
The Coronavirus outbreak is having a significant impact upon the Health and Social Care Sector and it is likely to continue for the next few months. Keeping positive and managing the wellbeing of the people using Making Space services is of paramount importance to us.
We have worked hard to ensure the safety in our residential services, adapted our community services, switched to phone support and online activities and distributed tablet computers and activity packs. Whilst, our support workers have met people in parks and on their doorsteps, while following the ever-changing government regulations.
Christmas will be very different this year and Making Space wants to help save Christmas for many vulnerable people and for you.
Christmas 2020 will be a time of reflection, a time of caring and a time of giving.
Fundraising Manager, Bob Towers said “Donations help make a world of difference to the people we support nationwide. We believe that everyone should be supported to live their lives in the best possible way and reach their full potential, and with your help we can make a difference.
“All money donated to us as part of our #SaveChristmas campaign will be put towards offering additional activities, carer breaks and projects.”
With every donation, we receive this Christmas; we will send a Christmas card to a person who uses one of our services.
You will be helping spread joy to vulnerable people and be happy in the knowledge you have helped save Christmas for those in need.
