The Academy is nearly ready to be called 'home'
Applications are now open for our brand new purposely redeveloped, supported living apartments in Warrington.
We have officially opened applications for their 22 brand new supported living apartments in the historic Academy building on Bridge Street.
The Academy will provide homes for people looking to live independently, in this beautiful, fully converted local Warrington landmark.
The building now offers 22 self-contained, 1-bedroom flats in various layouts, available over 4 floors, including: 5 ground floor flats for those requiring level access and 2 duplex style apartments.
For those who would like a little bit more independence, there are 6 flats accessed separately from the main building (but still connected via the staff call system).
All accommodations offer stylish, open plan kitchen/dining and living space (white goods provided), along with a separate bedroom and modern bathrooms.
With welcoming communal spaces on the ground floor tenants will be able to enjoy activities and access a range of services and support available via the charity’s links with community partners.
The Academy will provide a very safe city-centre style living experience, with access to the building controlled via a secure fob entry system and CCTV.
The care support team will offer tenants flexible and tailored care and support, anything from a daily wellbeing check, to care and support a few hours per week or several hours per day.
Rachel Peacock, CEO, said:
“The Academy is a wonderful local landmark rich with history. As a Warrington-based charity, we are proud to now offer this building to our community as much needed supported living accommodation for people with accessed care needs.
Working closely with our development partner, Homelife, we have purposely redeveloped the building while also retaining some of the original features of the building that our tenants will be able to enjoy. As well as providing a service that is in demand, we also wanted to honour the building’s heritage, and support the town’s cultural and rejuvenation plans – which I hope we have achieved.
"The Academy would be the perfect home for people who are seeking to live independently in Warrington, with the reassurance of our 24/7 on-site support team.
"I am pleased to say that final touches are now being made and we already have our first confirmed tenants looking forward to moving in during November.”
