Making Space women share their proudest moments and who inspires them
Read how our staff and the people we support celebrated International Women's Day 2022.
This year we wanted to do something extra special for International Women's Day. We wanted to hear from the women who work at Making Space, what their proudest moments are and who are some of the women that inspire them in their lives.
The responses we received were heartwarming to read and we want to share some of them with you.
Tracey, a support worker at Harpers Green, Warrington, told us her most proud moment was when she went through the toughest time of her life, due to needing major surgery and chemotherapy for ovarian cancer.
"I am so proud of myself for never giving up and for helping other women throughout my treatment".
Toni, one of our Volunteering and Co-Production Co-ordinators, shared how Princess Diana and Kate Middleton are her inspirational women.
"What inspires me is their charity work and how they raised awareness in tackling stigma around HIV and mental health".
Our Harpers Green and Doncaster Carers services also celebrated the day by having some amazing parties. Harpers Green had a tasty-looking buffet and our Doncaster Carers team recognised the day in style by hosting a get together, complete with dancing.
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who told us their proud moments, who inspires them, and sent us pictures and videos of you having fun and enjoying International Women's Day!
