Join us in celebrating our volunteers
We are thankful for our volunteers every day for giving their time to support others and for making a real difference to the people we support.
To celebrate and recognise your efforts and all that you contribute to our organisation, we would like to invite you to our 2024 volunteer event on Wednesday 5 June from 11am – 3pm, at The Manchester People Museum.
Kindly note: Invitations are extended to volunteers who are presently not supported at a Making Space service. However, volunteers who are supported by a Making Space service are invited to attend Our People event in October.
We will be celebrating and recognising the efforts of all of our volunteers and all you contribute to our organisation with an awards ceremony (you can read more on this later) and also providing the opportunity to take part in interactive activities throughout the event.
Lunch will be a delicious 2 course meal and there will be yummy breakfast pastries available for everyone on arrival.
The event is free to attend and travel expenses can be claimed back.
If you would like to book a place please email volunteering@makingspace.co.uk with:
- The number of tickets you require
- The name of all attendees
- Any dietary requirements of attendees
Please note, you can invite your manager or a colleague from the service you volunteer at to attend as well. If you care for someone outside of your volunteer role, you may also invite them to attend the event.
Awards:
We know that our volunteers do incredible things every day, so we want to shine a light on your amazing achievements and give you the recognition you deserve. To do this, we will be holding an awards ceremony during the event.
There are 6 categories to nominate for, you can find out more information here. Nominations can be submitted by all Making Space colleagues, volunteers, apprentices, as well as the people we support and their carers. If you know a volunteer that exemplifies excellence, nominate them today.
During the awards ceremony, we will also be recognising our long service volunteers.
Volunteer photo exhibition
At the event we will be showcasing a photo exhibition of all of our amazing volunteers in our service. If you have a picture that you would like to exhibit, please email it to volunteering@makingspace.co.uk before 17th May.
Before submitting photos, please can you confirm that we have photo permission from the people we support, volunteers and any colleagues who are featured.
