Keep it safe and legal
When it comes to hosting your event and getting people together, there are some health and safety tips and legalities you need to keep in mind.
It is important to consider health and safety and rules surrounding your event.
We wouldn’t want your amazing efforts to be dampened by something going wrong, but don’t worry, we are here to help!
Make sure to label allergens clearly if you’re selling food and also keep your preparation sanitary with the use of gloves and no animals or children allowed in the kitchen. Please have food cooked, prepared and stored correctly. Visit food.gov.uk for more information.
If you are collecting donations, keep them locked and safely hidden in a safe-box. Make sure you aren’t carrying a large amount of cash if you’re travelling far and always have someone with you if possible.
Do you need a certified first aider at your event? Or do you only need a first aid box? It is always better to be safe than sorry and you should bring sufficient amounts of first aid materials depending on the size of your event.
If your fundraiser is part of a larger event, make sure you liaise with the correct people and find out about fire evacuation points, what to do in an emergency and what the facilities will be for your guests.
There are certain legalities that are involved in holding a raffle or a lottery. If you are thinking of including either at your event, please get in touch with us first on 01925 581773 or email@example.com. Visit gamblingcommission.gov.uk for more information.
Our registered charity number (512907) will need to be printed on all materials that you are displaying. If you get in touch with our marketing department they can provide you with guidelines on our branding and using our logo. You can contact the team at firstname.lastname@example.org
It may be that our insurance, or the venue’s insurance, will be able to cover you. Get in touch with us for more information on this.
You may need to provide a risk assessment which outlines all the risks associated with your event, and how you will minimise these. If you need help creating a risk assessment, get in touch with the fundraising team.
If you’re unsure about any of the above, please contact us on 01925 581773 or email@example.com
