We're pleased to launch our BRAND NEW supported living service in Stockport

May 2021

We are pleased to announce that we are working in partnership with Inclusion Housing to provide homes for people looking to live independently in stylish, purpose built accommodation in Stockport.

Castlewood Court 1

Castlewood Court is the perfect home for adults with assessed care needs who are looking to live independently.

Located just 10 minute walk from the town centre, all that Stockport has to offer will be right on the doorstep. The accommodation at Castlewood Court comprises of 18 flats over 4 floors, with 3 ground floor flats and lift facilities throughout, giving various options for those who require level access and who have mobility needs.

Each flat has an open plan kitchen/dining and living space, along with a separate bedroom and modern bathroom. The service will offer tenants safe city-centre style living with access to the building controlled via a secure fob entry system and CCTV.

Gemma Shepherd, Head of Development and Fundraising said “We are really proud to be working closely with Inclusion Housing to provide 18 people with a key to their own front door and are really looking forward to welcoming our first tenants to this fantastic brand new service in the autumn.

“With the reassurance of our 24/7 on-site support team, our aim is to help the tenants to build upon their independent living skills.

“Our welcoming community space on the ground floor will also offer tenants the chance to socialise with their neighbours, as well as providing a great community area where we can deliver sessional and group activities designed to promote health and wellbeing.”

The service follows on from our successful launch of The Academy. The service welcomed their first tenant in Autumn 2020. You can read about Craig, the first tenant, being invited to cut a red ribbon for The Academy's launch on our website https://makingspace.co.uk/news/2020/the-academy-is-nearly-ready-to-be-called-home

Applications for tenancies are open to people aged 18 and over, with a range of needs including those living with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions and long-term health conditions.

Prospective tenants must have a support package in place and require on-going support to live independently to be eligible for a tenancy at Castlewood Court. To request more information, email castlewood@makingspace.co.uk.
