Canal Walk Superstars
Making Space’s 40th anniversary celebrations continued on Wednesday 18 May with a canal walk in Cheshire.
Staff and people we support from services in Cheshire, St Helens, Warrington and Bradford joined the 50 strong Making Space canal walk team.
Well done to Ian, Steve and Michelle from Greengate House in St Helens, who raised over £200 in sponsorship and the team from Warrington Day Service who raised over £50 for taking part in the walk. In total, donations for the canal walk totalled £467.50!
The circular walk started and finished with wonderful views of the Anderton Boat lift in Northwich. We were lucky enough to enjoy bright sunshine throughout the 4k route, which took in beautiful canal side views, woodland paths and even a few steep sections that ensured everyone fully deserved a cold drink and sugary snack boost at the finish line café.
‘We would like to thank everyone that joined us. It was a pleasure to see so many people taking part in the walk and I would like to draw particular attention to those people with mobility limitations that really dug in to complete the route. It was a real achievement.’
