Steve Beatty

Steve is our Associate Director of Finance and is responsible for our finance and property services teams.

His role is to help lead the strategic direction of the company, contributing from a finance perspective and working closely with the other senior leaders in the organisation.

After leaving university Steve joined an import export company specialising in trade to South America. Here he obtained his shipping qualifications before deciding he wanted to pursue the career that he had always wanted in finance. Here, he started a finance position at Everton FC, where he undertook professional exams and worked his way from Purchase Ledger Assistant to Management Accountant.

He left in 2006 to join Making Space as a Management Accountant, it was here he finished his professional exams to become a Chartered Management Accountant.

“I initially joined Making Space as a stop gap in my career. However, after working closely with our various services, seeing the good work we do and the influence and support I can give to ensure services can achieve their outcomes, it changed my outlook. Having a finance role that also means I can make a difference in people’s lives is the main reason I have remained at Making Space since 2006.”

In his current role at Making Space, Steve will move finance to a more forward looking department, able to supply the information that will help support the future growth of the organisation and help our organisation continue to grow on a strong financial footing.

In his spare time, Steve enjoys visiting national trust properties with his Daughter. Spending time with her, whether it is on days out, at home baking or getting away for holidays, is the most important thing to Steve. He love watching films, with science fiction being his favourite genre.
