Nick Farmer

Chief Operating Officer

Nick Farmer is our Chief Operating Officer. He provides leadership and direction across all operational services, ensuring the provision of day-to-day safe, high quality, person-centred care and support. Nick leads our Development and Fundraising team to ensure Making Space's direction aligns with our 2020-24 Strategic Plan and beyond.

Prior to joining Making Space, Nick has held Non Executive Director roles at Warrington Housing Association and Urgent Health UK, as well as serving as a magistrate for over six years. He is also a Chairman and Trustee of a charitable health and social care organisation in the Wirral.

Nick has undertaken a range of qualifications including Registered Nurse, an NVQ Level 5 in Management, an MBA, an MA in Management and a Masters in Professional Practice. He has achieved all this after leaving school with very few GCSEs and Nick has even said that if he can do this then anyone can.

When we asked Nick why he wanted to join Making Space, Nick said: "I have a passion for improving the lives of vulnerable people and in providing quality services. I believe my values and behaviours are a good alignment with Making Space's five co-produced values".

"The biggest influence on my life was my father. He was a thoughtful, compassionate and patient person, always putting others first. I strive to maintain those principles in my everyday life and work".
